Are you a tried and true Montreal Alouettes fan? So much so that your very presence at their game would bring them luck? With a record of one win and two defeats against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, the Alouettes are going to need their fans more than ever this Saturday, October 26th in order to show that they are still contenders for the Grey Cup! The game is being played in Guelph, but there’s no problem getting there … just hop on the VIA Rail fan train.
On Saturday, VIA Rail is proud to be the transport of choice for up to 500 people taking part in this annual event. Interested in joining us on the fan train? On your way from Montreal to Guelph, you’ll ride along with the Montreal Alouettes Cheerleaders, and on the way back, you’ll share your train with the entire football team! Passengers will have an opportunity to take pictures, get player autographs, and talk football. The fan train is an amazing experience that VIA Rail has been offering to football enthusiasts for 10 years.

Historically, this train has been packed with Alouettes fans donning the emblematic reds and blues of the team. Once in Guelph, the Montreal fans are easy to spot in the crowds. Only once a year do the Alouettes profit from this special event – being cheered on by so many crowd fans while playing an away game. There’s no better way to show your support for the team who are now officially in the CFL playoffs (and who made it there by beating none other than the Tiger-Cats)!
Feeling lucky? Montreal’s radio station CKOI 96.9 FM, are running a contest that give Alouettes’ fans the chance to win a 2-person package for the fan train and football game. All contest winners will also have access to our “lounge” car, the Glen Fraser, where they will be entertained by comedian Étienne Dano. There’s one more chance to win: tomorrow morning at 7:42AM, just tune in to CKOI and cross your fingers.
